Seamless mode allows you to break windows out of your guest operating system window and place them on your host operating system’s desktop. RELATED: Use VirtualBox's Seamless Mode or VMware's Unity Mode to Seamlessly Run Programs From a Virtual Machine You don’t have to reinstall your guest operating system or manually back up and restore a virtual machine’s files.

When you’re done, you can restore the original snapshot and all traces of the software will be erased.

For example, if you use a virtual machine to test software, you can create a snapshot of a clean Windows system, then install the software and play with it. Snapshots are particularly useful if you want to do something to a virtual machine and then erase your changes. You can restore snapshots from this interface later. To create a snapshot, click the Machine menu while the virtual machine is running and select Take snapshot or use the Snapshots panel.
Snapshots are similar to leaving a virtual machine in a saved state, but you can have multiple saved states and restore from them at any time. You can revert to the saved state at any time by restoring a snapshot. VirtualBox can create snapshots that save a virtual machine’s state.

Select the hard disk you created by cloning earlier above and you will have a new machine with the same configuration and hard disk state as the previous one.RELATED: How to Save Time by Using Snapshots in VirtualBox Open Virtual box GUI and create a new virtual machine with the same specs as the one you created for the first machine (I am sorry, but at the moment this is the fastest and neatest way to do this step) Once you run the last command, it will show some progress and once complete, you will have a copy of the old hard disk file as a new one by the name MYXP_2.vdi This is MUST, because simply copying the hard disk file from explorer will not allow you to use that file as a valid hard disk. The last command creates a copy of the harddisk file as another virtual harddisk. Vboxmanage is the actual goodie that comes with VirtualBox and can be used for lots of neat stuff once you get hold of it. The second line contains the installation path for VirtualBox (the one presented here is the default for VirtualBox 4.xx installation) This can be found by going to VirtualBox preferences.
In the above, replace E:\VM\VBOX\ with the path where your virtual machines are stored. Set path=%path% C:\Program files\Oracle\VirtualBox Open a command prompt and use the following commands to complete the second and third step.
#VIRTUALBOX NO CLONE OPTION UPGRADE#
The following method still applies to older versions, however, you are encouraged to upgrade to the latest version for best experience. Update: As of version 4.1.0 and above, VirtualBox GUI has support for cloning a virtual machine.
